State Secondary Comprehensive School No.1198 was opened in Moscow on September 1st 1994. The school was founded by the Moscow Department of Education. The municipally governed school provides education and instruction to children in accordance with state secondary educational standards, under state education licence serial no. A N 283670 dated 31st October 2007, which permits the school to run elementary, primary, secondary (full) and supplementary educational programmes. In August 2008 Mikhail Yurievich Gerchikov was appointed director of the School no.1198. In 2009 the school has changed it's status to the Centre of Education № 1498 hwo realise the ‛Moscow International School“ concept (see MIS programme). From 2009, school no.1198 is a feeder school for the State University Higher School of Economics. Priorities of the school - basic subjects: Russian language, Mathematics, English language. These subjects undergo objective assessment on a regular basis at all levels with the aim of raising the level of knowledge and preparation for successful completion of the Unified State Examination (USE) in years 9 and 11.

Our graduates study at the Moscow State University, the Plekhanov Academy of National Economy, the All-Russian Academy of External Trade, the FSB Academy and many other leading Russian institutions.

In 2011 the ‛Michurinsky“ health and sports complex will be completed within the grounds of the school, where our students will be able to swim. A three year Information Programme is underway at the school, which will include renewal of computers and other study equipment in the classrooms.
